Jesus is at the heart of everything we do
At Godson & Coles, we are proud to be one of London's leading art and antique galleries, specialising in the finest 18th century English furniture and outstanding mid-20th century Modern British Art. Our extensive collection showcases a unique combination of these two genres, which, though seemingly disparate, create a fascinating dynamic. This synergy is what sets us apart, offering a visual experience that is both captivating and thought-provoking.
Our Heritage
Founded in 1986, Godson & Coles has developed an international reputation for dealing in the highest quality of antique furniture and modern art. Our team, led by Director Richard Coles, has been instrumental in promoting the most exceptional pieces of 18th century English furniture, placing paramount importance on originality and authenticity. Our focus is on integrity, exceptional design, quality of craftsmanship, and untouched patina.
Artistic Expression
Our expertise spans the work of British Modernists, particularly those involved in the St. Ives movement. This period saw some of the most creative and avant-garde developments in British art, much of which is associated with the small Cornish fishing town of St. Ives. We specialise in works by some of the most acclaimed and distinguished names in Post-War British art, including works by Sir Terry Frost, Sandra Blow, Patrick Heron, William Scott, Alan Davie, and Victor Pasmore.
Conservation and Restoration
Conservation of our heritage for future generations is of paramount importance to Godson & Coles. Our expert team of highly skilled conservation specialists is dedicated to ensuring that each piece is carefully researched to ensure any conservation undertaken is carried out sympathetically. We also offer a bespoke interior consultation service, advising clients on how to maximise a property's full potential and working closely with interior designers to assist on specific projects.
