Welcome to Special Ice, a mother and daughter team of experienced wedding cake specialists based in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Sheila and Sarah Hitchon are passionate about creating beautifully decorated wedding cakes and special occasion cakes that cater to modern, contemporary, and classical tastes. Our expertise is built on years of cake baking and decorating experience, and we've recently been awarded the prestigious 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating by Herefordshire Council for our dedicated kitchen.

Our Journey

Sheila's passion for cake baking and decorating dates back many years, and it's clear that her enthusiasm and talent have rubbed off on her daughter Sarah. Until a few years ago, Sheila and Sarah solely created cakes for family and friends. However, as their fascination with decorated cakes grew, and their desire to put their creative ideas into practice, they decided to set up Special Ice as a family business. The cakes were initially baked in their farmhouse kitchen Aga, but as the business developed, Sarah and Sheila invested in purpose-built professional ovens to create their perfect studio/workroom.
