Highnam Day Nursery is a day care facility for children aged between 3 months and school age. Situated just 10 minutes' drive from Gloucester's city centre, we are an ideal location for parents commuting to or from Gloucester, Cheltenham or the Forest of Dean. At Highnam Day Nursery, we aim to provide a real 'home from home' experience for your child, offering a cosy, interesting, inquisitive and exciting learning environment.
Our Team
Our manager, Laura, has been with us for eight years and is a level 3 Early Years Educator. She is fully trained in Paediatric First Aid and safeguarding, and leads a team of eighteen practitioners, most of whom are qualified in childcare or are working towards a recognised childcare qualification. Our team is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and education for your child. They are constantly updating their skills through in-house and external training and qualifications.
Our Approach
At Highnam Day Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, with a key person approach. This means that your allocated key person will be available to discuss your child's progress with you at any time during their stay with us. We plan and assess children's development using the Birth to 5 matter statutory guidance and share your child's learning journey with you through the Early Years app 'FAMLY'. This app helps us to keep in close contact with our registered families, sharing updates in our private news feed, share upcoming calendar dates, send private and group messages and to share their learning and development during their stay with us.
Our Facilities
We offer fantastic facilities for your child to learn and grow, including a variety of indoor and outdoor play areas. Our outdoor area includes a vegetable patch, mud kitchen and a digging area, where children can learn about nature and the world around them. We believe that outdoor play is an essential part of a child's development, and we encourage children to spend as much time as possible outside, whatever the weather.

We offer a range of sessions to suit your needs, including morning, afternoon and full-day sessions. We also offer an early start option, as well as extra hours if required.
