Building Self-Respect, Discipline, and Confidence through Karate

IRUKA Karate Club is a family-oriented Wado Ryu Karate club that values a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Based in Morley, Leeds, we are proud members of WYSOK (West Yorkshire Schools of Karate & Oriental Arts) and NAKMAS, and our dedicated instructors have extensive experience in the field. We pride ourselves on our respectful environment, where everyone is equal, regardless of age, race, gender, ability, religion, or background. We have a strict no-bullying policy, and all our adult instructors are CRB/DBS cleared, 1st aid certified, and fully insured.

Our Services

At IRUKA Karate Club, we offer traditional Wado-Ryu Karate training for children and young people, with a strong emphasis on respect, self-respect, and discipline. We believe that karate training can benefit individuals both physically and mentally, and we strive to create a supportive and enjoyable environment for all our students.

We offer a variety of classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Our PeeWee Club is a special karate class designed for younger children aged 4-9 years old. These classes are 1 hour long and are held twice a week with fully qualified male and female instructors. The PeeWee Club is a great way to introduce children to karate and help them develop self-respect, confidence, and social skills.

Our classes for older children and young people (ages 9+) are divided into low grade and high grade categories, with separate training sessions for each group. These classes focus on developing students' physical strength, flexibility, and technical skills while also promoting discipline, respect, and a positive attitude.

All our instructors have achieved their black belts through the WYSOK association, and we continuously work to maintain a high standard of teaching and learning. Our membership policy is flexible, with no contracts, direct debits, or membership fees. We believe in creating a welcoming and accessible environment for all, and we encourage individuals to try out our classes and become a part of our community.

If you have any questions or concerns about starting karate training, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us through our contact page. We are always happy to provide more information and help you get started on your karate journey.
