Empowering young minds through music

Ealing Junior Music School, or EJMS for short, is a renowned music institution with over 25 years of teaching experience. Our mission is to provide children and young people aged 3-18 with musical training in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. We offer a wide range of musical opportunities, from learning a variety of instruments to performing in ensembles, orchestras, chamber groups, bands, and choirs.

Our Services

At EJMS, we provide not just an instrumental lesson but a comprehensive musical education. Each Saturday during term time, our students can enjoy instrumental lessons, singing lessons, and theory classes, as well as aural training and piano accompaniment when sitting exams. Our expert teaching staff, comprising over 50 members, offer tuition in all orchestral instruments, recorder, singing, guitar, and percussion. We also provide a large stock of instruments for our students to use.

Ensemble Opportunities

One of the unique features of EJMS is the emphasis we place on ensemble playing. Our students can take part in a variety of ensembles, including the Philharmonic Orchestra, Senior Windband, Elementary Windband, Jazz Big Band, Saxophone Ensemble, Intermediate String Orchestra, Elementary String Orchestra, Brass, Flute, Percussion, Recorder, Clarinet, Guitar Ensembles, Wind and String Chamber Group, and more. This not only helps develop their individual skills but also fosters teamwork, communication, and performance skills.

Choir Opportunities

In addition to instrumental ensembles, we also offer choir opportunities for our students. Our Ealing Children's Choir, Ealing Youth Choir, and Adult Chorale Choir provide a platform for our students to develop their vocal skills and perform in a variety of styles and genres.

Our Facilities

EJMS is located at Twyford CofE High School, Twyford Crescent, Acton, London W3 9PP. Our facilities include well-equipped classrooms, teaching studios, and a concert hall, providing a comfortable and inspiring environment for our students to learn and perform.

Testimonials

We have many proud parents who have seen the impact that EJMS has had on their children. "EJMS gives my children an incredible experience of ensemble playing every single Saturday, " one parent said. "We all look forward to it. I particularly like the cafe concerts: informal and encouraging and part of building great musicianship and rapport with each other and with the audience. Thank you EJMS!" Felix McGonigal, our Music Director, said, "I hope that you will see an opportunity here that will interest you and that you will consider joining us on Saturday mornings to learn more about performing music."
