Urban Wardrobes is a bespoke fitted furniture company based in Chiswick, West London, designing and building made-to-measure furniture for London homes since 2012.
Everything we make is built from scratch for the specific room — not a modular system configured to fit, not a standard product placed against a wall. Whether it's a bedroom wardrobe in a Victorian terrace with uneven walls and a chimney breast, a walk-in dressing room in a loft conversion with a sloped ceiling, a fluted oak media wall in an open-plan living room, or a fitted Murphy bed wardrobe for a home office that doubles as a guest room — the furniture is designed for the room, the brief, and the way the client actually lives in the space.
We work across the full range of styles and materials: factory-lacquered MDF in any colour (Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, RAL, Dulux), fluted and reeded oak panels, real wood veneer in oak, walnut, and ash, high-gloss acrylic, shaker-style doors in factory lacquer or hand-painted finish, and decorative panel finishes for more cost-effective projects. Blum soft-close mechanisms on every drawer and hinge. Integrated LED lighting, cable management, and built-in speakers available across all project types. Internal fittings designed for the client — jewellery inserts, bespoke shoe shelving, valet rods, mirror panels — not picked from a standard list.
We produce in our own London workshop and install with our own team. No outsourcing, no subcontractors. The specification agreed at design stage is the specification in the room on installation day. Lead time for most projects is 4–8 weeks.
We work with homeowners, interior designers, and architects. Our showroom is at 111 Power Road, Chiswick, W4 — open by appointment, with materials and finish samples available to see in person.

After getting quotes from three companies, we went with Urban Wardrobes and I'm genuinely glad we did. The difference in how they approached the project was obvious from the first visit — they measured properly, asked the right questions, and came back with a design that actually worked with the room rather than just filling a wall.We have an Edwardian house in Richmond with all the usual quirks — uneven floors, walls that aren't square, a ceiling rose that needed working around. None of it was treated as a problem. The finished wardrobes are floor-to-ceiling in a shaker profile, factory-lacquered in Farrow & Ball Elephant's Breath, with soft-close hinges throughout. The quality is excellent and the fit is exact.Fourteen weeks later and they still look brand new. We wanted a media wall for our living room in Clapham that didn't look like it came from a furniture showroom. Urban Wardrobes designed and built exactly that — a full-width unit with reeded oak panels either side of the TV recess, integrated LED lighting, and closed storage below with handleless lacquered doors. Every cable is hidden. It looks like it was part of the original architecture.

We converted a spare bedroom into a dressing room and asked Urban Wardrobes to design the whole space. The brief was specific — full-length hanging on two walls, a central island with drawers and a glass top, dedicated shoe shelving, and LED lighting throughout. The drawers run smoothly and quietly. The LED sensor lighting comes on the moment you open the door. The shoe shelving is spaced for actual shoe heights, not a standard dimension. It sounds like small things but they add up to a room that works perfectly every single day.

Urban Kitchens built a bespoke kitchen for us and the whole experience was outstanding from start to finish. The planning process was amazing — we were able to choose any material and finish for both the worktops and cabinets, which made the kitchen feel truly personal and unique.
The bespoke design also allowed us to maximise cupboard space and cleverly work around a water heating cylinder that could have been difficult to accommodate. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were excellent.
The workmen were polite, quick, and efficient, and the entire kitchen was completed within a week. The final result was spectacular — especially the waterfall countertop and lighting, which completely exceeded our expectations.
Considering the quality and level of customisation, the value for money was fantastic. We would never have expected a bespoke kitchen of this standard for the price we paid.

Urban wardrobes have some great designs and I really liked the fact it was possible to have the configuration and colour I wanted. They also designed and built me a small wall hung book case and were able to add a bifold door mechanism to allow the wardrobe door to pass by the end of the bed easily. Not something that I had seen available from some manufacturers. The end product is great all bar the fact that white caulk was used against a teal coloured wardrobe. It would be a real improvement for a colour match offering that they included tinted caulk which I think is available and would give a much better finish . Communications were sometimes difficult with lots of follow up required to get info during the planning phase. The onsite team worked really hard. I am pleased with the end product.

We used the Urban Wardrobes to fit out my daughters bedroom. From start to finish Mikhailo and team were fantastic. Even when we had a slight design issue with a hinge, we managed to work around this, and as compensation the team provided us a free internal mirror. Would recommend and use again - Eugen was particularly helpful!!
