Your construction cost partner
Based in Edinburgh, Torridon Cost Consultancy delivers RICS-regulated quantity surveying and construction cost consultancy across Scotland and the wider UK. We work independently on behalf of clients who require reliable commercial guidance for refurbishment, retrofit, fit-out and development projects. Our specialist knowledge centres on existing buildings and challenging commercial schemes, including office improvements, commercial interior fit-outs, decarbonisation initiatives, building upgrades, and the adaptation or redevelopment of existing properties. We recognise that these projects demand careful financial oversight and an understanding of the complexities that can arise when working with established buildings.
From initial feasibility work and comparisons of project options to the completion of construction and agreement of final accounts, we provide cost and commercial support at every stage. This encompasses preliminary estimates, detailed cost planning, construction cost forecasting, financial monitoring, value engineering, procurement and tender advice, tender document preparation and assessment, contract administration, interim payment valuations, variations and final account discussions. Our role is to help clients navigate unforeseen conditions, existing fabric and service interfaces, sequencing constraints and the challenges of working in occupied buildings, all of which can affect costs and delivery. By maintaining close working relationships with clients and their appointed architects, project managers, engineers and contractors, we develop realistic budgets, highlight emerging financial risks and offer clear advice throughout the project. We combine an independent perspective with a commercially grounded approach and direct involvement from experienced Directors, enabling our clients to make decisions with improved understanding, greater certainty and confidence in their project costs.
