Keepers Nursery is a proud second-generation family business, established in East Farleigh in 1993, and now recognised as one of the UK's leading and most respected fruit tree specialists. Our unique selling point is our extensive range of over 1200 different fruit tree varieties, both old and new, which far exceeds that of any other nursery in the UK. We take great pride in the fact that 99% of the trees we supply are hand-grafted and grown by us on our nursery in Kent.

We are renowned for our custom-grafting service, offering customers access to thousands more rare and obscure varieties. We can even propagate new trees for you using buds taken from an existing tree in your garden. At Keepers Nursery, we are passionate about apple breeding and have been actively breeding new apple varieties from seed, concentrating solely on flavour, unlike most commercial apple breeding programmes.

At Keepers Nursery, we manage our trees differently from most other nurseries. We leave the trees in the ground and only dig them up a few days before we send them to you, ensuring they are out of the ground for as little time as possible. Our unique nursery management system enables us to identify each tree individually from "birth", providing us with complete traceability. This gives us a headstart over other nurseries in ensuring compliance with emerging phytosanitary and biosecurity standards set by Defra.

Our Fruit Trees

Thousands of amateur gardeners have planted trees supplied by us in their gardens and benefited from our help and advice. We are particularly proud of our contribution to preserving many wonderful but endangered old fruit varieties. Our trees have been used for many restoration projects throughout the UK carried out by local authorities and organisations such as the National Trust and English Heritage. Our fruit trees are a long-term investment, and it is essential to make the right start by planting good quality trees suitable for your requirements.

Fruit tree production is a highly specialised area of horticulture. There are now very few producers of fruit trees left in the UK, and most only cater for large orders, supplying trees to commercial growers or retailers. At Keepers Nursery, we are proud to be one of the few who supply trees direct to the public, enabling us to provide the best quality trees and the best guidance and advice to our customers. We supply bare-root trees, which generally establish much better than container-grown trees. With a few exceptions, all of our trees are grafted and produced on-site at our nursery in East Farleigh, Kent. Our nursery undergoes regular phytosanitary inspections by Defra to ensure they are disease-free.
