Aberdeen Counselling is a trusted provider of psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy services, dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Our Services

At Aberdeen Counselling, we offer psychotherapy and counselling services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. We work with clients who are facing personal and/or professional challenges, which may have resulted in stress, depression, anxiety, or anger. Our services are not limited to those in crisis or with a diagnosed mental health problem; we believe that anyone can benefit from increased self-awareness and a deeper understanding of their world.

We provide a safe and confidential space for clients to explore their concerns, thoughts, and feelings. Through our psychodynamic approach, we help individuals recognise patterns of behaviour and relationships, understand unconscious motivations, and develop the ability to make positive changes in their lives.

In addition to addressing personal and work-related issues, we also support clients experiencing physical symptoms such as headaches or problems with sleeping and eating. We recognise that the mind and body are interconnected, and addressing emotional distress can often lead to improvements in overall health and well-being.

Consultations

The consultation session is an opportunity for clients to meet Fiona, discuss their reasons for seeking counselling, and determine if our services are the right fit for their needs. There is no obligation to disclose personal details or issues prior to the consultation; this information will be explored during the session.

Following the consultation, Fiona will arrange to see the client within a few weeks or provide an estimate of any potential delay. If immediate help is required, she will recommend alternative resources such as Samaritans, Breathing Space, or Safe2Speak.

Ongoing Therapy

The process of psychodynamic therapy allows clients and therapists to explore alternative perspectives on difficulties and dilemmas. Through ongoing therapy, clients can develop a deeper understanding of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviour, empowering them to make meaningful changes in their lives. Fiona's expertise and compassionate approach ensure that clients feel supported and encouraged throughout their therapeutic journey.
