Downshire Nursery School

Here at Downshire Nursery School, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to grow and develop. Our team of highly qualified and experienced staff are committed to delivering the highest quality nursery education, promoting the all-round development of each child through fun, play-based activities.

Our Nursery

Our nursery is situated in Primrose Gardens, Banbridge, Co Down, and offers fifty-two full-time places for children in their pre-school year. We have two classes of twenty-six children, attending from 8:45am until 1:20pm. Our staff consists of one principal teacher, one teacher, two full-time nursery assistants, and two part-time assistants, as well as a secretary, lunch supervisor, and building supervisor.

Our Philosophy

We believe that every child is unique and special, and that they should be treated with love, care, and respect. We strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where children feel happy and secure, and are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. We also believe in the importance of partnership with parents, and encourage them to be involved in every stage of their child's education.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to support the development of young children. Our curriculum is designed to be broad and balanced, and includes activities such as music, movement, art, and storytelling. We also provide healthy and nutritious meals and snacks, and encourage children to develop healthy habits from an early age. Our staff are trained in first aid and child protection, and we have a range of policies in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in our care.
