We are proud to have five King Acre Landscape Centres operating throughout the UK, all of which are major stockists of Bowland Stone products. Our History
King Acre Landscaping Centre was established in 1999 by Paul Elston, the then managing director of Bowland Stone. Paul had a vision to start a franchised business in landscaping centres, utilising redundant outdoor areas at well-established garden centres. This innovative idea provided a 'ready-made' business for willing franchisees, attracting new customers and introducing high-quality landscaping supplies to the market.
King Acre's first branch was set up in 2003 within the grounds of Wyevale Garden Centre in Hertfordshire. It is now a well-established brand amongst landscapers and local residents, and is known for its high-quality products and knowledgeable staff. The success of the first branch led to the expansion of the King Acre brand, with additional centres opening in Surrey and Stockport.

Our Surrey branch is located at Woodcote Green within Dobbies Garden Centre, 4a Woodmansterne Lane, Wallington, SM6 0SU. Our Hertfordshire branch is located at Codicote within Vanstone Park Garden Centre, Hitchin Rd, Codicote, Hertfordshire, SG4 8TH. Disappointing Experiences
Some customers have had unpleasant experiences at King Acre's garden centre. For instance, M.J. was frustrated with the unusual purchasing process, which involved waiting for someone to arrive at a "little shed thingy" and then waiting to pay. This led to a lengthy wait of over an hour. Irene Atkinson was also dissatisfied with the state of the baby changing room, which was dirty and in need of cleaning and bin changes.
Positive Experiences
However, many customers have had excellent experiences with King Acre.
