Our History
Grantown Museum was established in 1995, when the Grantown Museum and Heritage Trust purchased Burnfield House, a historic building in the heart of Grantown-on-Spey. The Trust, a registered charity, worked tirelessly to restore the building and develop the museum, which officially opened its doors to the public in 1999. Since then, the museum has grown and evolved, becoming a major community initiative and a hub for cultural activity in the region.
Our Team
Our team consists of a professional manager, a curator, and a group of dedicated volunteers. We also have a Board of Directors, elected from our membership, which helps to guide and support the museum's development. Our volunteers play a vital role in the museum, assisting with fundraising events, shop management, and tourist information services.
