At Irwin's Bakery, we are proud to be one of the most beloved and respected bakeries in Northern Ireland. With over 100 years of experience and a rich history, we have been perfecting the art of bread-making and bringing joy to our customers through our delicious products.
Our Story
Our journey began in 1912 when WD Irwin started as a grocer in Woodhouse Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh. He soon began baking cakes and breads to sell in his shop, with his wife Ruth and sister-in-law Flossie doing the baking. The demand for fresh bread continued to rise, and by 1932, we had expanded our distribution with a fleet of horse-drawn and motor vehicles to deliver fresh bread daily to a wider area. Today, we employ over 450 staff and operate 24 hours a day, 363 days a year, manufacturing a full portfolio of breads encompassing four brands: Irwin's, Irwin's Joeys, Rankin Selection, and Howell's.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of products and services to our customers. From our iconic Nutty Krust plain bread to our delicious Brunch muffins and Fruited Craft Breads, we cater to all tastes and dietary needs. Our Food Service division provides a comprehensive range of products to the hospitality industry, and our Recipes section is packed with inspiration for cooking and baking at home. We also have a strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, Charity, and Sponsorship, and we are proud to support local communities and initiatives.
