Our School Ethos

At Hatchlands Primary School, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility. Our school values of Respect, Love, Curiosity, and Trust form the foundation of all that we do, and we strive to instill these values in every child who passes through our doors.

Governors and Results

Our school is governed by a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that we maintain the highest possible standards. We are proud of our achievements, and our recent results speak for themselves. In 2019, 73% of our Year 6 pupils achieved the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths, and 23% achieved the higher standard. We are committed to building on this success and ensuring that all of our pupils reach their full potential.

School Day Timetables and Curriculum

Our school day runs from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm, with a range of activities and clubs available before and after school. Our curriculum is designed to be broad, balanced, and engaging, with a strong focus on the core subjects of English, maths, and science. We also offer a wide range of foundation subjects, including art, music, history, geography, and design technology, as well as modern foreign languages and physical education.

Nursery, Breakfast and After School Club

We offer a range of flexible childcare options to meet the needs of our families. Our nursery is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and we offer a breakfast club from 7:45 am and an after-school club until 6:00 pm. These clubs provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and play, and are open to all children aged 4 to 11.

At Hatchlands Primary School, we take the safety and wellbeing of our pupils very seriously. We have a comprehensive safeguarding policy in place, and all of our staff are trained to identify and report any concerns. We also have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) who works closely with pupils, parents, and teachers to ensure that every child receives the support they need. Our lunchtime provision is designed to be fun, social, and healthy, with a range of options available to cater for all dietary requirements.
