Our Story

Established in 1986, Kites Nurseries is the longest running nursery in Gwent, and we take great pride in our long history of providing top-notch childcare services to children from birth to 14 years old. Our nurseries are extensively renovated and refurbished to ensure the well-being and safety of your child at all times. We have spacious, airy base rooms equipped to cater for each age range, as well as additional playrooms for soft play and sensory exploration.

Our Mission

At Kites Nurseries, we understand the importance of providing a nurturing environment that encourages learning, play, and development in children. We are committed to delivering high-quality childcare services that cater to the unique needs of each child, from birth to 14 years old. Our experienced and qualified staff are dedicated to creating a happy, homely environment that fosters a sense of belonging and well-being in every child.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to support the needs of our children and their families. From our baby and toddler rooms to our pre-school and after-school clubs, we offer flexible bookings with various sessions each week. We are also registered for 95 children in Caerleon and 82 in Newport, and our nurseries are equipped to accommodate children of all ages and abilities.

Staff Qualifications and Training

All of our staff are qualified to at least level 3 in childcare or working towards, with most working towards level 4. Our staff are also qualified in Pediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Safeguarding, and all have a clear enhanced DBS. We believe in ongoing training and professional development to ensure our staff are always up-to-date and able to offer the best possible care for your child.

We are an English-speaking nursery, and Welsh is used throughout the day to promote linguistic diversity. We also have procedures in place to support children for whom English is a second language.

Flexibility

We understand that every family is unique, and we strive to be as flexible as possible to meet your needs. We offer term-time only care for parents who do not require care in school holidays, and flexible bookings with various sessions each week. Places are limited and only available in our baby and toddler rooms, so we encourage you to book early to secure a place.

Wraparound Care

We offer wraparound care to support working parents, providing childcare from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Our wraparound care includes a variety of activities, such as arts and crafts, music, and outdoor play, designed to promote learning and development.

Little Extras

At Kites Nurseries, we believe that every child deserves a little extra something to make their day special. That's why we offer a range of Little Extras, including flying start funded sessions, holiday clubs, and out-of-school clubs. These services are designed to provide additional support and enrichment for our children, and we are proud to offer them as part of our comprehensive childcare package.

Report Evenings and Progress Updates

We believe in keeping parents involved in their child's education and well-being. We offer regular report evenings and progress updates to keep you informed about your child's progress and any areas where they may need additional support. We also encourage you to discuss your child's progress and any concerns you may have at any time with our staff.
