Tamarillo is a family-run, independently owned cafe situated in the heart of Bootle, just north of Liverpool City Centre. Nestled within St Martins House on Stanley Road, Tamarillo was born in 2000, following the sale of our first sandwich shop 'Pumpernickels' (Liverpool) in 1999. We sought to create a space that not only offered delectable coffee and food but also fostered a fulfilling work environment for our employees and delivered high-level service standards based on genuine hospitality and value for money.
After more than six decades in the industry, our passion for quality food and beverages and our admiration for local food markets inspired us to search out speciality food suppliers, leading to the establishment of Tamarillo. With a relaxed atmosphere, we have been serving a diverse range of fresh, handmade dishes daily, prepared on the premises using only the finest ingredients.
Our dedicated team of nine hardworking staff members produces thousands of sandwiches and coffees every month, with the essential bacon 'toastie' being a particular favourite amongst Bootle's residents. We are delighted to witness the evolution of the food industry in Liverpool and Sefton over the past two decades and wholeheartedly support the many small independent operators who have recently emerged. Our Food and Drinks

From hot toasties and fish dishes to cheese, vegetarian, egg, meat, salad box, and baked potato menus, our food is prepared daily on the premises using the highest quality fresh ingredients. Our skilled and highly trained staff serve a wide range of hot drinks, including cappuccinos, espressos, lattes, mochas, macchiatos, and a selection of filtered coffee. For those with a sweet tooth, we offer a variety of whipped chocolates, luxury hot chocolates, and fruit teas.
We take great pride in our coffee, sourcing fair-trade beans from Cafe Direct. Our espresso beans come from plantations in Peru, and we use a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans to ensure a rich, full-bodied flavour. Our tea selection is equally impressive, offering various flavoured syrups, herbal, and green teas.
