A2 Gallery, located in the heart of England's smallest city, Wells, Somerset, is one of the largest varieties of artwork, artists, and makers in the South West. With a rich history and a commitment to showcasing contemporary art, the gallery has established itself as a must-visit destination for art lovers.

Founded several years ago, the gallery has recently been taken over by new ownership, who are dedicated to providing a diverse range of contemporary work to cater for all tastes. The gallery represents over 100 contemporary artists working in diverse media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and more. Most of the represented artists are based in the South West of England, but others originate from throughout England, Wales, Scotland, as well as international artists from the USA and New Zealand.

Our Services

At A2 Gallery, we offer a variety of services to our customers. We display the work of professional artists on the ground floor, which operates on a sale or return basis with a commission rate of 45% on all sales. We invite artists to display their work by selection via our submission process.

On the first floor, we have our gallery within the gallery, 'Square One', which is a dedicated showcase for local artists. We have divided the display space into separate units which are available to rent on a weekly basis with costs starting at just 10 per week with a commission rate of 20% on sales. We also have a new dedicated area of the ground floor, 'ART SPA2CE WELLS'. We are offering the possibility to hire over 23m2 of exhibition space in the main ground floor gallery. With a High Street location in this popular visitor destination, we have an annual footfall of over 15000 visitors, making this an ideal venue to showcase and sell your artwork. Our fee for hiring this space is 150 per week and the gallery would take 20% commission on any sales. In addition, we can provide add-on packages including private view (with or without wine/canapes); and design and print of promotional material.

If you would like to submit your work for selection, you can send an email to: info@a2gallery.co.uk with a brief resume about yourself and either a link to your website or some examples of your work attached. Please note that we do not view individuals' portfolios during gallery open hours without a prior appointment. We will discuss our terms of trading with an artist if their application is successful.

Artworks

At A2 Gallery, we showcase a wide variety of artworks, ranging from unique pieces around 10 to over 7000. We have a diverse range of contemporary work, including original paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, and more. Whether you're looking for a statement piece or something to complement your existing collection, we have something for everyone.

Our most represented artists are based in the South West of England, but we also showcase work from artists from throughout the UK and internationally. Our collection includes paintings in oils, watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media, sculpture in bronze, resin, ceramics, wood, and mixed media, printmaking in etching, screenprinting, collagraphs, woodcut, and linocut, and ceramics, both decorative and functional.

A2 Gallery is located at 80 High Street, Wells, Somerset, BA5 2AJ, and is open from Monday to Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm, and closed on Sundays. We are closed on Bank Holiday Mondays.
