Your Local Friendly Security Company

I am pleased to introduce myself as a retired cabinetmaker with a wealth of experience in creating bespoke wooden furniture. Having spent many years working as both an engineer and a woodworker, I have established a reputation for originality, attention to detail, and quality of finish. I specialise in designing and crafting custom-made furniture for the home, office, and workplace, drawing inspiration from both traditional and contemporary styles.

Although I am now retired and no longer accepting commissions, I am proud to present a selection of my past work, which showcases my expertise in working with a variety of materials and timbers, such as oak, maple, and walnut, in both solid form and veneer. Where appropriate, I utilised FSC certified wood to ensure sustainability. My portfolio includes pieces crafted for Christ's College and Trinity College in Cambridge, several churches, and numerous private clients.

Our Services

At my Cambridgeshire workshop, I provided a unique range of bespoke wooden furniture services, tailored to suit individual client specifications. Each piece was designed and handcrafted to create an individual work that is both functional and visually pleasing while fitting your budget. While I am no longer accepting commissions, I am happy to share insights into the design process that I have employed over the years.

The Design Process

Every piece of furniture that I crafted was custom-designed and built in my workshop. I followed a meticulous design process to create an individual piece that is both functional and beautiful, all while adhering to your budget constraints.

Before embarking on a design, I would arrange to meet you in person to discuss your requirements in detail. This meeting allowed me to see the intended location for the piece, as the environment significantly influences the design and choice of materials.

Following our discussion, I would develop a preliminary design concept, which I would present to you for feedback. Once a final design had been agreed upon, I would produce detailed drawings, specify materials, and provide an estimate of the time required to craft the piece.

Upon your approval of the design, production would begin. I would keep you updated on the progress and timeline for completion. Once the piece had been crafted, I would arrange for delivery and installation, ensuring that the finished product met your expectations.

Commissions

While I am now retired and unable to accept new commissions, I would like to express my gratitude to the many clients who have entrusted me with creating unique and personal pieces of furniture over the years. My portfolio comprises both personal and corporate commissions from Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties of Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Huntingdonshire, and Suffolk.
