Our History
The Optometrist, Sian C. Brookes-Fazakerley, B.Sc. Hons MCOptom, is a third-generation member of the family practice. She graduated with a degree in Optometry from the University of Aston, Birmingham, and subsequently became a member of the College of Optometrists. The practice was founded in 1937 by Sian's grandmother, Miriam Russell Carrington Searle, who was later joined by her grandfather and mother. Now, 79 years later, Sian continues to provide the same professional care and personal service that has made our practice a trusted name in the community.

Our services include Private and NHS Eye Examinations, Contact Lens Fittings, Low Vision Examinations, and Welsh Eye Care Service (WECS) Examinations. We also offer a wide range of spectacle frames, from budget to designer, and a comprehensive choice of lens options to suit your needs. Our fully equipped and easily accessible practice is dedicated to providing you with the best possible care for your eyes.
Welsh Eye Care Service (WECS)
The WECS is a free eye care service introduced by the Welsh Government for anyone with an eye problem that needs urgent attention. This service is different from a normal sight test and is designed to provide urgent care for those who need it most. We are accredited to provide WECS examinations, which include a detailed examination of your eyes and a discussion of your symptoms and problems experienced. Our optometrist may also refer you to other health professionals if required.
