About Philip Serrell
Philip Serrell, the founder of Philip Serrell Auctioneers, has been an auctioneer for over 30 years. His career began as a P.E. and Geography teacher, but he quickly realised that auctioneering was his true calling. After starting as a cleaner at a local livestock market, he gained valuable experience and eventually established his own business in 1995. Today, Philip Serrell Auctioneers specialises in the sale and valuation of Royal Worcester Porcelain and other fine art and antiques, with a global clientele.
Philip's work as an auctioneer has led him to meet interesting people and share his stories in three books: 'An Auctioneer's Lot', 'Sold to the Man with the Tin Leg', and 'The Auctioneer's Tale'. These books, full of humorous stories from his 30-year career, are available for purchase at most good bookshops or directly from our saleroom. Philip is also a familiar face on various antiques television programmes, such as Bargain Hunt, The Antiques Road Trip, and Celebrity Mastermind.
As a dedicated fundraiser for local charities, Philip is particularly supportive of St Richard's Hospice in Worcester, where he serves as a Patron. He is also a Trustee of the Museum of Royal Worcester.
