Our History

Harry Brook & Son Ltd was founded in 1946 by Harry Brook, shortly after he finished serving in the Second World War. Initially, Harry carried out small domestic plastering and roofing jobs, using a hand cart as a means of transport. However, the business quickly flourished, and Harry soon employed a small workforce to help out. He began contracting to various local builders, as well as working for his established regular customers.

In 1955, Harry's son Victor became involved with the business, and in 1961, it was incorporated as a limited company. The business continued to expand, and by the mid-1960s, it employed up to seventy operatives undertaking large-scale contracts throughout the north of England.

Today, the company is managed by a third generation of the Brook family, with Iain at the helm. We have a dedicated team of employees and contractors undertaking plastering work for housing developments, local authority contracts, and builders' plastering requirements throughout Yorkshire and further afield.
