• David Gledhill: "We had a blocked drain and when Barry arrived we all hoped it would be a quick and simple job. But when taking the manhole cover off and finding a LOT of toilet waste, we knew there was an issue. Barry managed to quickly to clear all the waste with high tech rod and jet wash but there was still a little water in the base of the pipe once he'd finished. He wasn't happy about this and got the high tech camera out to have a look down the pipe. And 10 metres down our pipe he found an old drain rod which had obviously been snapped off and left there after a previous unblocking. It was wedged around a sharp bend taking the our pipe into the main sewer. And we have since discovered that this rod has been down there a long time causing endless blockages for previous owners. Barry was very honest and presented the two options, he had a very expensive piece of kit at the office, a grappler, which might just been long enough to reach the rod and with luck, pull it out. And if that didn't work, we were probably looking at having our living room floorboards etc removed to get at the pipe beneath our home, which was almost unthinkable in terms of cost, disruption and stress. Barry got one his guys to collect the grappler and when it arrived, using two cameras for guidance, very carefully and slowly, somehow he managed to retrieve the offending item! Much to everyone's relief. I cannot recommend this company enough. Proper experts! I've attached a photograph of the rod (next to brush for scale)."
