Our Story
Welcome to Petals Florist in Plymouth, a flower shop and delivery service dedicated to providing exceptional floral arrangements and exceptional customer service. Our story began in 1986 when our proprietor, Shirley Hyde, started commercial floristry in the old Co-op supermarket in Transit Way. As the supervisor of 7 staff, Petals quickly became known for its high-quality arrangements, bouquets, and gifts.
After the Co-op closed in 2001, Petals relocated to the popular city centre's Pannier Market Hall, where it continued to thrive. Shirley purchased the business in March 2001 and employed 3 of the original Co-op staff to join her. Together, they brought expertise and passion to the business, which continued to grow from strength to strength.
