At CPS Payroll Ltd, we are the trading arm of Community Action Sutton, providing fully managed payroll services to voluntary sector organisations and businesses in south London and beyond. With over 20 years' experience in running payroll for voluntary sector organisations, we understand the unique challenges and requirements of these sectors. Our dedicated team of two full-time staff, Karen and Tina, have over 30 years of combined payroll experience, ensuring that your payroll needs are met with professionalism and expertise.

Our History

Our history dates back to 1989/90 when Sutton Centre for the Voluntary Sector (SCVS) began providing a payroll service. The idea was born from Stan Thomson, Finance Manager, and Ann Burleigh, Director, who saw an opportunity to provide a valuable service to the growing voluntary sector in Sutton and, in doing so, generate income for SCVS. By 1991, the service was slowly expanding, and by 1993, Mike James joined the team, taking over the story. Mike recounts the early days of the payroll service, highlighting the manual processes and outdated technology.
