Creating Lasting Memories, One Stone at a Time

At J.H & T.P Duncan, we are a family-run business that has been serving the local community with love and care for at least six generations. Our family's rich history in memorial masonry dates back to 1917, when our great-grandfather, Jack Harold Snook, started his apprenticeship as a mason. Today, the fifth and sixth generations continue to run the family business, priding themselves on providing the highest standards of care, quality, and traditional values to each family served.

Our team, led by Anthony and his daughters Sophie, Sadie, Phoebe, and Amelia, is dedicated to helping you recreate your memories and set them in stone for eternity. We understand that memories are the foundation of everything we do, and our compassionate, helpful, and understanding service is perfectly developed to help you create a memorial of lasting meaning.

Our History

Our great-grandfather, Jack Harold Snook, started his apprenticeship as a mason in 1917, learning the skills of letter cutting from his father George Snook. In 1941, Jack Snook and his brother formed Snook Brother Masonry Company, but it closed shortly after as they were called into the army. In 1946, Jack Snook started working at J.H & T.P Duncan and later brought the business in 1952, running it in its entirety.

Our grandad, Michael Snook, started working at J.H & T.P Duncan in 1946 as a letter cutter's apprentice. In 1950, Michael went into the air force and didn't return to work until 1952. He later became a director of J.H & T.P Duncan with his brother John Snook in 1970, with Michael completing the fixing and John completing the renovation works.

Our Team

Our office team is composed of experienced and skilled professionals, including Sophie Snook, who has over 10 years' experience designing and providing beautiful memorials. Sadie Snook, with over 5 years' experience in sourcing and selling granite, is a wonderful addition to the team. Phoebe Snook has several years of experience assisting with the coordination and administration of the company. And Amelia Snook, who is an integral part of our team.
