Our Story
Howkel Carpets was established in 1985 by Raymond Howe, and our journey began by selling rugs on local Yorkshire markets. We progressed into manufacturing rugs and then carpets, opening our first mill shop in Armitage Bridge and later moving to Lower Viaduct Street in Huddersfield. In 1991, we acquired our Taylor Hill mill manufacturing site, enabling us to start full production of carpets. Our second mill shop was opened in 1993 at Oldfield Street in Crosland Moor, and since then, we've been making and retailing 80/20 wool carpets.
