Our nursery is nestled in a quiet alleyway, down a passageway on Vicars Road, and is home to over 600 varieties of herbaceous perennials, shrubs, alpines, heathers, bulbs, climbers, roses, conifers, and cottage garden plants.

Our journey began over 33 years ago, when the founder of Chorlton Nursery discovered their passion for plants and propagation during an intensive horticultural training course. With dedication and hard work, the nursery has grown to become a reputable and beloved destination for gardening enthusiasts in the local community. We take pride in our commitment to supporting local businesses and promoting sustainable practices in our daily operations.
What We Do
At Chorlton Nursery, we're passionate about providing our customers with the best possible service and selection of plants. About ninety percent of our plants are grown on-site, either from seed, cuttings, or division, while the remaining ten percent are sourced from exclusive British suppliers. We believe in protecting the environment by reducing the risk of introducing non-native pests and diseases. Our team of experts is always happy to offer friendly and helpful advice on choosing the perfect plants for your garden.
Caring for the Environment
We're committed to minimizing our environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices in our operations. Our plants are grown in Melcourts peat-free compost, which is endorsed by the RHS, and we use controlled, slow-release chemical fertilisers. We strive to reduce chemical spraying against pests and diseases to an absolute minimum, instead relying on natural and cultural control methods to maintain a healthy and balanced ecosystem.
