Disappointment and Disarray
The reviewer, Stewart Hunt, shares a harrowing experience with Aspire Classics, a company he approached for a motorcycle restoration. The story begins with Stewart purchasing a vintage Honda CB350 and, after four years, reaching out to Aspire Classics for assistance. Peter, the owner, picked up the bike and attempted to complete the restoration, but the outcome was far from satisfactory.
The Troubled Restoration
The first attempt at restoration resulted in the bike being returned to Stewart's driveway, where it failed to start. The second attempt saw oil spilling onto his drive within minutes of starting the bike. Peter took the bike back, and the third attempt ended with Stewart driving the bike around private property, only to notice white smoke and fuel leaking from the breather tube. After this point, Peter stopped responding to Stewart's calls, emails, and texts.
The Outcome
Stewart invested around 2,500 and received a motorcycle in a state of disrepair. The damage included:
- Damaged carbs
- Missing parts
- No compression in one cylinder (requiring a full engine rebuild)
- Oil leaks
- Back brake assembly missing
The only positive aspect of the experience was the powder coating, which was completed by another company Peter used.
