Newcastle Cricket Club is a thriving and dynamic social enterprise, dedicated to fostering excellence, inclusivity, and enjoyment in cricket, both on and off the field. We are located in the historic Jesmond Ground, which has been a hub for cricket enthusiasts for over 125 years. Our club has undergone significant transformation and growth in recent times, thanks to the support of over 150 dedicated volunteers and numerous members.

In 2015, Newcastle Cricket Club became a Community Interest Company (CIC), following changes to the Government rules on Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs). This transition has brought financial benefits to the club and has enabled us to better serve our community. Newcastle Cricket Club CIC (company number 09491842) is the parent company, and Newcastle Cricket Club (Community) Limited (company number 09544501) is a wholly-owned subsidiary. You can read the Articles for both companies here and here. The changes were approved by Special Member Meetings on 24 November 2014 and 26 March 2015, with a background summary and Frequently Asked Questions provided.

Governance and Recognition

Our club is proud to have received numerous awards and recognitions, which highlight our commitment to excellence and community involvement. In 2015, we were the recipients of three top awards from the Premier League: the Division 2 trophy, Club Captain Jacques du Toit being named Premier Division Player of the Year, and Ben McGee winning the Ben Jermy Trophy. We have also been named CAMRA Tyneside Club of the Year in 2016, 2015, 2014, and 2013. Additionally, we have been recognised as the national Marketing Club of the Year in 2014 and 2013.

Our commitment to cricket development is evident in our status as an ECB Focus Club. We work closely with local schools to support cricket development and are proud members of Newcastle CVS - Council for Voluntary Services, as well as Jesmond Community Forum. Our ground quality is regularly recognised, with the club being a frequent winner of the Ground of the Year award.
