D&H Plant Hire is a well-established family business that has been serving the community since 1984. Our roots, however, go back much further than that, as we were previously a building firm known as Dunn and Hellyer, which was started in the early 1900s. When Gilbert Disney took over Dunn and Hellyer in 1974, he kept the building firm going until 1988, when it was decided to change direction and focus on tool hire instead.
In 1984, Gwen, guided by Gilbert, had started a small tool hire business in a building previously used as a garage at Whiteball, near Wellington in Somerset. By 1988, the building firm had been transformed into a hire company, and the site located in the Kingsmill Industrial Estate, Cullompton, was purchased. Gilbert built the industrial units from which D&H Plant now operates, and the business has been growing ever since.
Today, D&H Plant Hire boasts a large fleet of 30 mini excavators, a wide variety of dumpers, and countless small tool hire items. We are proud of our heritage and the knowledge of the building trade that we have accumulated over the years. Plant Hire
At D&H Plant Hire, we offer a extensive range of plant machinery for hire. Our Yanmar mini and midi excavators range from 3/4 ton up to 8 ton machines, including micro diggers, zero tailswing diggers, and long reach diggers. We also have a selection of Thwaites, Benford & Barford dumpers available in various sizes, with different types of tipping mechanisms. Additionally, we offer Gehl and Bobcat skidsteers with a variety of attachments.
