At Norman Cox & Partners, we are a family-run timber yard with a rich history of 70 years, nestled in the heart of the Chiltern Hills at Scots Common, just outside Checkendon, near Reading. We take pride in being a one-stop-shop for all your timber, fencing, and garden product needs, catering to both trade and domestic clients. Our team, led by Neil and Carol, the son and daughter of the founders Norman and Barbara Cox, is dedicated to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services, including processing and manufacturing of wood and wooden goods. Our skilled craftsmen are experts in cutting and preparing softwood and green oak to customers' requirements. We have our own pressure treatment plant on site, offering natural wood treatment for ground contact. Our team is also skilled in hand-crafting outdoor buildings, rustic woodwork, garden furniture, and features, as well as creating unique and special decorative items to your specifications and design.

Fencing and Trellis

We stock a wide range of fence panels, including Closeboard fencing, Rustic lap fencing, Hazel Hurdles, and Trellis. Our Hazel Hurdles are a popular choice, giving a rustic ambiance to any garden or urban space. Our Trellis panels are perfect for creating a garden boundary, placing on a wall, or using as a feature. We also offer bespoke trellis products to meet your specific requirements.
