FTX Logistics is a specialist transport company contracted by the Ministry of Defence to operate and maintain a fleet of 92 Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET). Established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kellogg Brown & Root Ltd, part of the KBR group, we provide critical military logistics support through our team of 85 Army Sponsored Reservists. Our operators and maintainers deliver heavy armour transportation services across the UK and Germany, working in partnership with 19 Tank Transporter Squadron RLC. With bases in Bulford (Wiltshire) and Catterick (North Yorkshire), we combine commercial haulage expertise with military operational readiness. Our personnel receive comprehensive training and are medically fit to meet both civilian and military standards.We maintain a strong safety record, having received 12 ROSPA Gold Awards and recognition from the International Safety Council. Heavy Equipment Transport
We specialise in transporting heavy military equipment including Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks across the UK and Germany. Our operators use specialist Oshkosh tank transporters to support MoD requirements for strategic mobility. This service combines commercial haulage expertise with military operational readiness, ensuring safe and efficient movement of armoured vehicles between military locations.
HGV Driver Recruitment
We recruit and train qualified C+E HGV drivers aged 22-50 to become Army Sponsored Reservists. Our drivers must have fewer than 6 licence points and meet medical fitness standards. They receive comprehensive training in operating military-specification transporters while maintaining their commercial driving credentials through third-party agency work during non-tasked periods.
HET Maintenance
Our HGV mechanics maintain and repair the fleet of 92 Oshkosh tank transporters. Technicians require BTEC/City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 qualifications with C+E licence preferred. We provide a modern workshop environment in Bulford or Catterick for maintaining these specialist vehicles, ensuring operational readiness for both military deployments and routine transportation tasks.
Army Sponsored Reserves
All our personnel serve as Army Sponsored Reservists affiliated to 19 Tank Transporter Squadron RLC. We provide trained reservists who combine commercial driving/maintenance roles with military service, meeting strict medical and fitness standards. This unique model enables rapid mobilisation while maintaining civilian employment during non-deployed periods.
