The Abbey Hotel

The Abbey Hotel, a privately operated Bed & Breakfast Hotel, is located in the heart of Tewkesbury. Fashioned from two adjoining terraced town centre properties, the hotel has incorporated an excellent stand-alone independent Italian restaurant named Salernos. The Abbey Hotel is a budget hotel that prides itself on offering comfortable rooms, without the need for a bar. The hotel has no lifts or ground floor rooms, with access to the rooms via a central staircase. With 12 bedrooms, The Abbey Hotel is an ideal destination for weekend breaks and short stays.

Please note that if you are a light sleeper, the hotel's town centre location and adjacent Church Street may not be the perfect fit for you. The hotel has been converted from two townhouses, and as such, bathrooms have been added into or added to rooms. For those looking for purpose-built hotel rooms and bathrooms, it is advisable to look elsewhere. Only one of the rooms has a bath and shower, the other rooms are shower only.

Facilities

The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests, including a guest lounge where guests can watch TV or use the computer. The hotel also has private free parking to the rear of the hotel and offers free wifi throughout the hotel with our Fibre broadband. The Salerno Italian Restaurant, which is operated independently, is located within the Hotel. Salernos is packed out Fridays and Saturdays. Rooms

The Abbey Hotel has 12 guest bedrooms, all with en-suites. The hotel offers 8 Double rooms, 2 Twin rooms, and 2 Single rooms. All rooms have a shower, but only one has a bath as well. The hotel lets the rooms on the second level at a discount because of the additional stairs and because the second-floor rooms are generally slightly smaller.

A typical first-floor double room has a comfortable double bed and en-suite facilities. A typical twin room has two comfortable single beds and en-suite facilities. A single room has a comfortable single bed and en-suite facilities.

Room Tariffs

The hotel's bed & breakfast tariffs listed below include a good full English breakfast and VAT. The hotel is aware that their Saturday night tariffs are high, but the rate reflects the demand. Taking two nights will bring the average price per night down. Double Room: 55 - 90 per night, Twin Room: 55 - 90 per night, Single Room: 40 - 65 per night.

Please note that for those looking to stay on a Saturday night only, from April to October, the hotel has a minimum charge of 70 per night. The hotel's rates exclude Cheltenham Gold Cup week and other events, so please check the online booking system for minimum stays and pricing. Negotiable rates are available for those staying for longer periods and of course, our regular customers.
