With a passion for art and design, Simon Nicholl launched S. Nicholl Furniture in 2009, and since then, we have been providing bespoke furniture solutions to customers across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, London, and the surrounding areas.
Our Story
Our journey began when Simon Nicholl followed his passion for art and design, studying Illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University. He then went on to study cabinet making at London Metropolitan University, formally the London College of Furniture. To gain experience in the work environment, Simon worked alongside experienced cabinet maker Geoffrey Rowe before launching S. Nicholl Furniture in 2009. Over the years, we have established ourselves as a reputable bespoke furniture company, known for our exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Whitwell Sawmill
In 2022, we launched Whitwell Sawmill, a small local wood yard and sawmill that specializes in kiln-dried locally sourced timber. This initiative was driven by Simon's passion to change the way we make use of wood in the UK, moving away from imported timber and towards sustainable, locally sourced materials. Whitwell Sawmill now offers an extensive collection of English hardwoods for sale, which can be used by us to create bespoke furniture or by customers for their own woodworking projects.
