Fylingdales Preschool is a charity, non-profit organisation situated between the picturesque villages of Robin Hoods Bay and Fylingthorpe in North Yorkshire. Our preschool offers early years care for children aged between 6 months and 5 years, throughout the academic year. We take great pride in our commitment to providing high-quality care for our young learners, fostering an environment that encourages growth and development. Our setting is run by a dedicated committee, who collaborate with experienced early years practitioners, ensuring the best possible start for every child in their educational journey.

Our Services

Fylingdales Preschool offers a range of services, tailored to meet the diverse needs of children in our care and their families. Some of our key services include:

1. Early Years Care: We provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged from 6 months to 5 years. Our setting is designed to facilitate the foundation stages of a child's learning and development, with a strong focus on supporting their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth.

2. Qualified Staff: Our team of experienced and highly qualified early years practitioners are dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care and education. We ensure that every child feels valued and supported, and are provided with ample opportunities to learn, explore and thrive.

3. Voluntary Committee: Our setting is managed by a supportive volunteer committee who work alongside our staff to meet the needs of our families and children. These volunteers bring their unique skills and experiences, and work diligently to ensure the seamless operation of our preschool.

4. Child Safeguarding: At Fylingdales Preschool, the safety of every child is our top priority. All staff have received comprehensive training in child safeguarding, ensuring that young learners are protected and cared for in a secure and supportive environment.

5. Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene: Our staff are fully trained in paediatric first aid and food hygiene practices, guaranteeing parents and carers that their children are in capable hands. This training provides our team with the knowledge and skills to confidently respond to any emergency, and maintain the health and wellbeing of every child.

Our Facilities

Fylingdales Preschool is located within the St Stephens Church Rooms on Thorpe Lane, Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire. YO22 4RN. Our facility includes a range of resources and learning spaces, designed to promote a positive, engaging and enjoyable learning experience. These include:

• Toddler Room: We offer separate, age-appropriate environments for our younger and older children. Our Toddler Room is designed for children aged between 6 months and 2 years, offering a safe and nurturing setting where young learners can build confidence and develop new skills.

• Preschool Room: Our Preschool Room is designed for children aged between 3 and 5 years. This space encourages children to engage in play-based and experiential learning, helping to further their knowledge and prepare them for their transition to primary school.

• Additional Resources: Our setting includes a range of additional resources for children, including a spacious outdoor play area, creative art and craft stations, and a comfortable reading nook, catering to interests and needs of every child.

Funding Opportunities

Fylingdales Preschool offers access to funded hours for eligible children, in line with Government guidelines. We are happy to provide guidance and support throughout the application process and can provide information on the funded hours available to your family.
