At Hummingbirds Educational Nursery, we pride ourselves on providing a warm and welcoming environment, dedicated to the care and education of children from the age of 2 to 4 years. Established in 1997, we have a rich history of providing high-quality childcare and education to the local community, with a focus on building strong relationships between children, parents, and carers.

Our Philosophy and Aim

Our philosophy is centered around providing a sense of belonging and community, where children and parents feel valued and supported. We achieve this by creating a nurturing environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and learning. Our aim is to provide a solid foundation for young children to grow and develop, both academically and socially, as they prepare for their transition to primary school.

Our Facilities

Located in Castle Lane Community Centre, our nursery is well-equipped to provide a variety of activities and experiences for our children. Our outdoor play area is fully secure and features a range of interactive equipment, including a Playdale climbing/slide system, a construction area, a large sandpit, and a mini-beast area. We also have a small vegetable plot, which allows our children to learn about gardening and where their food comes from. Our indoor spaces are used for enrichment activities, such as dance, football, tennis, and yoga, and we have additional rooms for quiet activities, such as reading and craft.

Our Staff

Our team of experienced and qualified staff are dedicated to providing personalized care and education to our children. We have a Staff Member with Level 3 Forest School qualifications, which enables us to offer regular forest school activities from September 2021 onwards. Our staff are committed to creating a safe and secure environment, where children can feel confident and happy.

Safeguarding and Well-being

At Hummingbirds Educational Nursery, we take the safeguarding and well-being of our children very seriously. We have robust policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety and protection of all children in our care. Our policies are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure compliance with current legislation and guidelines. We also have a designated Safeguarding Officer and a Health and Safety Officer, who are responsible for monitoring and implementing our safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
