Our Story: A Family Run Business Since 1961
Allison Heating Plumbing Ltd. was founded in 1961 by John Allison in Holt, North Norfolk. With a clear vision and a strong family ethos, John set out to create a forward-thinking plumbing and heating business that would become a staple in the local community. In just two years, he employed his first apprentice, marking the beginning of a long-standing tradition of passing on trades to younger generations.
In the following years, John formed a partnership with Ray Foreman, operated a shop in New Street, Holt, and became one of the first firms to be involved in solar water heating systems. In 1984, he purchased land at Old Station Way in Holt, where the company still resides today. The business has since grown to include John's son-in-law, Simon Elliott, and his son, Michael Allison, as company directors, as well as his daughters, Sharon Morter and Jackie Elliott, who work as company secretary and showroom manager, respectively.
