Notarial Services
As a Notary Public, my primary role is to authenticate documents and transactions for international use. My services encompass notarising documents for all countries, including but not limited to, company documents, powers of attorney for selling, purchasing, mortgaging and inheriting property abroad, birth, marriage, and death certificates, and education certificates. I also handle overseas adoption documentation, draft notarial certificates, authenticate the contents of documents, and oversee the execution of documents and the verification of signatures.
My practice extends to handling consent documentation for children to travel abroad, affidavits, statutory declarations, change of name declarations, and divorce documents. I also facilitate shipping protests and arrange for apostille certificates and consular legalisation, ensuring my clients' documentations meet the stringent requirements of their intended destinations.
Examples of Notary Public Services
To further illustrate the scope of my notarial services, here are a few examples:
- Overseas Adoption: A couple wishes to adopt a child living abroad, such as in China, India, or Kazakhstan. To do so, they need to provide a number of documents, including home study reports, police checks, and medical reports to the courts of the child's country of origin. These documents often need to be notarised by a Notary Public. After notarisation, they typically require an "apostille" from the Legalisation Section of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and legalisation by the appropriate Consulate.
- Sale of Property Abroad - "Apostille": A couple plans to sell their property abroad. Their lawyer prepares the sale documentation, and they attend before a Notary Public in England to witness their signatures. The Notary checks their identity, capacity, and authority. Once satisfied, they witness their signatures, sign the documents, and stamp them with an official notarial seal. Some overseas countries require the notarised document to bear an "apostille", a certificate verifying the Notary's signature and seal, which can be obtained from the FCDO's Legalisation Section.
- Purchase of Property Abroad - Power of Attorney: A gentleman decides to buy a property overseas but cannot travel to the country where the property is located to complete the purchase. His lawyer prepares a Power of Attorney, which authorises the lawyer to act on his behalf. The Power of Attorney must be signed in the presence of a Notary Public, who verifies the identity of the buyer and ensures the accuracy of the document's content.
