Magic Box

At Magic Box, we are a small, friendly outdoor-inspired not-for-profit Ofsted registered pre-school nestled amongst rolling fields in the beautiful village of Wellow, 5 miles south of Bath. We are a much-loved organisation run for and by local people, taking genuine joy in preparing children for school life and beyond.

Our Services

We provide a warm and nurturing environment where children can grow and develop at their own pace. Our experienced team, all of whom are mothers, have been with Magic Box for many years and are dedicated to ensuring each child has a happy and stimulating day. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure children learn through play, with a balance of child/adult led activities. Our inspiration comes from the wealth of countryside resources on our doorstep, and we take regular welly walks and rural adventures throughout the seasons. Whether it's counting daisies in spring, making stick men for Wellow brook in summer or collecting apples to make our own crumble in autumn, learning is stimulating and fun.

We cater to children aged 2 years+ and our hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, term-time only. Our small size allows us to provide a high staff-to-child ratio, ensuring that each child receives the individual attention and care they need.

Meet Our Team

Our team is made up of experienced and mature staff who are passionate about providing a safe, stimulating, and fun environment for children. We have a strong focus on child/adult relationships and work closely with parents and carers to ensure that each child's needs are met. We are committed to providing a balanced curriculum that includes play, learning, and outdoor activities.

Safeguarding

At Magic Box, we take safeguarding very seriously. We believe that every child deserves to be protected from harm and abuse, and we take action to ensure that this happens. We follow the guidelines set out by the NSPCC and have a comprehensive child protection policy in place. We encourage open communication with parents and carers and work together to ensure that each child is safe and happy.
