At Merritime Nursery, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. As a well-established Day Nursery and Pre-School, we cater to the needs of service and MoD Civilian Personnel, offering a safe and secure setting within HMS Sultan in Gosport, Hampshire.
Our History and Mission
Our nursery has built up an excellent reputation for offering a kind, caring, and safe environment for children to explore and learn in. Our staff are passionate about the children we care for, and we work closely with parents, carers, and agencies within our community to provide high-quality childcare and education. Our mission is to provide a learning environment that will prepare children for their first day of school and beyond, while promoting choices, independence, and hands-on learning and development through a variety of activities.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to support the development of young children. Our setting is separated into sections to ensure appropriate activities and equipment are offered to all ages. Our practitioners ensure that they really get to know each child, tailoring the learning journey to suit their individual style of development. We promote a range of activities, including communication and language, physical development, and personal, social, and emotional development, following the EYFS Statutory framework.
Our Staff
Our team of dedicated practitioners is led by Vanessa, our Nursery Owner/Manager, who is certified in Early Childhood Education and has extensive experience in childcare. Our staff is passionate about providing a nurturing environment, and many have been working with us for over 10 years. We understand the importance of getting a jump start on education at an early age, and we work closely with our children and their families to ensure a seamless approach.
Our Facilities
Our nursery occupies a large building in a secure environment, providing a safe and comfortable space for children to learn and grow. We have built a secure foundation through learning and development opportunities, which are planned around the needs and interests of each individual child and are assessed and reviewed regularly.
