Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Dorset, our two 4-star self-catering holiday cottages offer a tranquil escape for your next getaway. Situated in the picturesque hamlet of Newton, just outside the market town of Sturminster Newton, you'll find yourself surrounded by natural beauty and a wealth of activities.
About us
Liz Wray, along with her late partner Cath, established Hillyground Cottage Holidays in 2006. Driven by a desire to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, they sought a tranquil haven in the countryside and fell in love with the charming Hillyground Cottage and its stunning gardens. Sharing this special place with guests became their fulfilling mission.
Our Cottages
Both Jasmine and Rose Cottage are charmingly converted outbuildings, retaining their rustic character with elm cladding. Each cozy cottage sleeps 3 guests and features:
- A well-equipped kitchen/diner/lounge area
- A spacious bedroom with a super king-size bed (can be split into singles upon request)
- A second bedroom with a single bed
- A sleek bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin

From exploring the Jurassic Coast to discovering historic houses and gardens, the Blackmore Vale offers a plethora of activities for all ages. Some highlights include:
