Our Company History and Growth

R Bell Tree Services was founded in 1999 by Robert Bell, initially operating with one staff member. Over time, the company expanded to two teams of two, including Robert. In 2005, the first truck-mounted hydraulic platform was purchased to improve efficiency and safety. Realising the potential of these platforms, more were acquired, leading to the formation of R Bell UK Ltd in September 2006.

In April 2008, R Bell UK Ltd acquired R Bell Tree Services, merging the two entities and growing the team to nine members. In September 2008, the hire side of the business was sold, allowing the company to focus on arboricultural services, leaving six members of staff and Robert.

To make the most of waste products, the company began selling firewood in 2011, and our woodchip is now collected and sold as biomass to power stations to generate energy. Based on demand, we have also started providing tree reports for risk assessments, planning, mortgages, and trees.

In November 2015, R Bell UK Ltd purchased its first premises and yard at Lyngate Industrial Estate in North Walsham. Presently, the company boasts a team of ten employees and has recently acquired a 35m Access Platform for hire with a qualified operator.

All our employees hold necessary certifications such as NPTC, IPAF, first aid, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. We also abide by LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH regulations, conducting risk assessments prior to each job. Rest assured that we carry Public Employers Liability Insurance of 5,000,000, and copies are always available upon request.
