Our Story

Established in May 1985, Helen Guy Dance Academy has been a pillar of dance education in south Leicestershire for over three decades. Our academy is proud to be a member of the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA) and has been dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for students of all ages and skill levels to learn and grow.

Our Services

At Helen Guy Dance Academy, we offer a wide range of dance classes for children and adults, including Classical Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Modern Jazz, Street Dance, and Acrobatics. Our expert instructors are passionate about teaching and are dedicated to helping our students reach their full potential.

Weekly Classes

We offer weekly classes for students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experienced dancers. Our classes are designed to be fun and engaging, while also helping students develop their technical skills and confidence.

Examinations

We believe that examinations are an essential part of a dancer's development. Our students have the opportunity to take graded examinations with the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA), which helps to assess their progress and provide a sense of accomplishment.

Awards and Achievements

We are proud to have achieved numerous awards and recognitions, including our annual dance show, which showcases the talents of our students. Our students have also won numerous awards and trophies in local and national competitions.

Adult Classes

We also offer adult classes in Tap and Classical Ballet, providing a fun and challenging way for adults to stay active, improve their physical fitness, and express their creativity.

HGDA Dance Store

In addition to our dance classes, we have an on-site dance store, HGDA Dance Store, which offers a wide range of dance wear and accessories, making it easy for our students to get everything they need for their dance journey.
