Embark on a Journey of Transformation and Unlock Your Full Potential

Bleak Hill Rovers Football Club is a community club situated in the heart of Eccleston, St. Helens, in the North West of England. Our club is proud to be part of a town that has a rich history associated with the glass industry and is home to the renowned St. Helens Rugby League Football Club, affectionately known as 'The Saints'. Positioned approximately 10 miles from Liverpool and 20 miles from Manchester, it is only natural that the majority of our young footballers look up to the stars of the surrounding Premier League clubs.

A Club for All

At Bleak Hill Rovers Football Club, we believe that football should be enjoyed by all, regardless of ability. Our core objective is to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive through the beautiful game of football. We are passionate about making a positive impact on our members' lives and the community as a whole.

Our Teams and Skills Development

We take great pride in offering a wide range of teams, from Under 7s to Under 18s, giving children the opportunity to develop their skills, learn the importance of teamwork, and build lasting friendships. In addition to our regular teams, we also have a Skills/Development Group that focuses on improving the abilities of our players in a fun, engaging, and supportive atmosphere.

Community Engagement and Events

Bleak Hill Rovers Football Club is deeply committed to engaging with the local community and organising events that bring people together. Some of our recent activities include:

  • Player registration for the 2024/25 season is now open, and we encourage all interested players to sign up as soon as possible.
  • Our annual Presentation Day will be held on 15th June 2024 at De La Salle School. This event offers an opportunity for all teams to play a short game against another Bleak Hill Rovers team, enjoy a delicious paella, and celebrate the season's achievements with sweets, ice cream, and team presentations.
  • Our next coaches meeting will take place at Greenalls Club in Alder Hey Road, Eccleston on Tuesday 30th January 2024, starting at 8pm. This meeting is open to all parents and carers who wish to attend.

Additional Offerings and Resources

Our club provides a number of additional resources to support our members and coaches, including:

  • A comprehensive set of welfare policies, which outline our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
  • A range of documents and forms, such as the Membership (player) registration form for the 2024/25 season.

Reviews
Positive: The reviews praise the club's setup, organisation, and coaches for their dedication to developing young players.
Negative: The club's lack of facilities is mentioned as a limitation.

Setup and Organisation

The reviews praise the setup and organisation of the junior football club, with Lee Barnes commenting that it is "great setup with coaches, well organised and managed". This suggests that the coaches are well-trained and the club has a structured approach to managing its teams.

Facilities

However, Lee Barnes notes that the club's field is "big" but lacks facilities. This could be seen as a limitation, but it does not appear to have deterred the club's success.

Success and Development

Stuart Ridgway's review highlights the club's success in developing young players, stating that his son has improved significantly since joining the club. He credits the coaches' "hard work and dedication" for this development.
