Today, it continues to uphold its heritage as a charming village inn, overlooking the village cricket field and the ancient church.

History of The Church House Inn

The Church House Inn is a Grade 2 listed pub that has been serving the Marldon community for over 600 years. It was originally built around 1400 and provided accommodation for the artisans working on the church. It later became the meeting place for the church congregation and eventually the village inn.

In recent years, the pub has received numerous awards for its delicious food and exceptional service. It was the first pub in Devon to be listed in the Michelin Pub Guide and has been voted Devon's Best Country Pub by readers of Devon Life magazine. In 2013, it was voted Devon's Dining Pub of the Year by the Good Pub Guide.

The Church House Inn is located in Marldon, a small village in Devon. We are easily accessible by car or public transport and have ample parking available. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 12 pm to 3 pm and 5.30 pm to 10.30 pm, Saturday, 12 pm to 11 pm, and Sunday, 12 pm to 10.30 pm. Food is served 12 pm to 2.30 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm, Monday to Friday, and 12 pm to 2.30 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm on weekends.**
