As a qualified lawyer and a member of the third and oldest branch of the legal profession in the United Kingdom, I am appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury and regulated by the Court of Faculties. My aim is to provide you with a seamless experience, and I am pleased to arrange visits to your home or business when required, with evening or weekend visits available in case of necessity.

Services Offered by Notary Public Uxbridge

As a notary, my main functions include administering oaths and affirmations, taking affidavits and statutory declarations, witnessing and authenticating the execution of certain classes of documents, taking acknowledgements of deeds and other conveyances, providing notice of foreign drafts, and providing exemplifications and notarial copies. These notarisations are integral to ensuring that your documents are effective and legitimate for use abroad.

Your Appointment with Notary Public Uxbridge

During your appointment with me, I will:

1. Expect you to make an appointment.

2. Request that you bring good evidence of identity, typically a current valid passport and a document such as a council tax or electricity bill to confirm your address.

3. Need to be satisfied that you understand any document, particularly those not in English.

4. Appreciate seeing any relevant papers or documents that relate to your matter.

To help your appointment proceed smoothly, it is helpful to send or fax a copy of your document to me beforehand.

Notary Public vs. Solicitor

While notaries and solicitors both belong to the legal profession, they have distinct roles. Notaries specialise in the preparation and certification of documents for international use, maintaining absolute integrity and impartiality to preserve the standing of the Notarial profession. Meanwhile, solicitors provide advice and representation on various legal issues within their country of residence. My primary duty as a notary is to the transaction and the authenticity of the documents, ensuring that your notarised documents are recognised and effective abroad.

Legalisation and Apostille

Many countries require notarised documents to undergo legalisation, which involves checking the notary's signature for authenticity with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and possibly foreign embassies. This process often involves attaching an "Apostille" certificate to confirm the signature's validity. While I cannot perform legalisations myself, I can guide you through the process and help you understand the associated fees and time frames.

Identification and Documentation Requirements

During your appointment, I will require passport or other personal identification documents, such as a driving licence, along with a recent item proving your address. For company representatives, please bring Companies House incorporation documents, which I may obtain online if necessary.

Fees for Notarial Services

There are no set charges for notarial services, and The Notaries Society reminds its members that they should ensure fees are fair and reasonable based on the complexity and time required for each notarisation. I am here to provide transparent and competitive pricing for my services and will be happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding fees.
