Grafham Water Sailing Club is an energetic and welcoming club situated in the picturesque countryside of Cambridgeshire, only a few miles away from the A1 and A14. Our club caters to families and individuals who share a passion for sailing, windsurfing, day keelboats, and small sailing cruisers. Recognized by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as a training center, we offer a variety of courses in sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, wingsurfing, and foiling, ensuring that there is something for everyone, regardless of experience level.

Our club is more than just a place to sail - it is a community that provides a diverse range of activities for both sailors and non-sailors alike. Our members enjoy a packed calendar of racing events on Wednesdays and Sundays, sociable sailing sessions on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, as well as adult and youth coaching on weekends. Those new to the sport can take advantage of our comprehensive training school that offers taster sessions and full RYA courses in sailing, windsurfing, and powerboating. Additionally, we host various social activities, quizzes, and seminars throughout the year.

Our outstanding record of achievements includes hosting numerous championships and open meetings and nurturing several of our sailors to participate at the international stage, including the Olympic Games and the America's Cup. Grafham Water Sailing Club is proud to be a community that supports sailors and promotes the sport at all levels.

The Lake

Set on a magnificent 1,600-acre lake that stretches three miles long and 1.5 miles wide, Grafham Water sailing club offers one of the best inland sailing venues in the UK. Our location is renowned for its flat countryside and few trees, providing consistent and reliable wind conditions that make sailing an enjoyable experience for sailors of all ages and abilities.

Location

Grafham Water Sailing Club is situated in central England, approximately three miles from the A1/A14 junction, between Bedford, Northampton, Cambridge, and Peterborough, and only 60 miles north of London. Our location and accessibility make it easy for our members and visitors from around the country and beyond to attend our events.

Opening Hours

We are open for sailing seven days a week throughout the year, except during Christmas and New Year. Our organized racing events take place on Sundays and Wednesdays, while coaching sessions are available on Saturdays. Our sociable sailing group meets on Tuesdays, welcoming sailors of all abilities to join.

Training Centre

As an RYA Recognized Training Centre, we offer certified training courses for dinghy and keelboat sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, wingsurfing, and foiling. Our courses cater to existing and new club members, with successful completion of the Level 2 course allowing you to hire our Club boats.

Not a Sailor?

At Grafham Water Sailing Club, we welcome non-sailors and provide many opportunities for them to participate in the community. Whether you're interested in learning to drive a powerboat, becoming a race official, or simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings, there's always room for you at our club.
