"This is the one moment!" - Epernay Bridal

Gwynne Hughes Solicitors, a distinguished private legal practice, was established in 1943 by the late John Gwynne Hughes. The firm's original office was located at 1 North Road, Aberaeron, which it shared with the Aberaeron Rural District Council. In 1952, the firm acquired its current premises, marking a significant milestone in its history.

J. Denys Gwynne Hughes joined the practice in 1959 as an articled clerk and assumed its leadership in 1969 upon his father's retirement. He continued the firm's legacy of growth and success, and in 1974, he was appointed Clerk to Aberaeron Town Council following local government reorganization. His tenure as Clerk ended in 1996, the same year his son, John David Gwynne Hughes, joined the practice.

John David Gwynne Hughes became a Partner in the firm in April 2000, representing the third generation of leadership. In 2005, Barry Gawthorpe joined the practice as an Assistant Solicitor, bringing with him a wealth of legal experience in contentious matters, including Employment law, Family law, and Criminal Law.

On 1st October 2006, the firm expanded further through a merger with Mary R Rishko, a sole practitioner with over 30 years of legal experience. In 2015, J. Denys Gwynne Hughes semi-retired and continued to serve the firm as a consultant solicitor on a two-day weekly basis. His son, John Gwynne Hughes, took over as Senior Partner, leading the firm into a new era.
