Ardross Farm Shop: Our Ethos and Story
Welcome to Ardross Farm Shop, a family-run farm and shop situated on the picturesque eastern coast of Scotland, in the fringe of the East Neuk of Fife overlooking the Firth of Forth. We are thrilled to share our story, our ethos, and the wide range of services we offer to help you connect with your food again.
Our ethos is deeply rooted in our passion for providing fresh, grass-fed meat and vegetables that are not only delicious but also support local producers and promote sustainable practices. We grow over 40 varieties of seasonal vegetables, carefully tended by hand and picked fresh every morning for the farm shop. Our farming methods prioritize the welfare and happiness of our animals above all else, ensuring that all our beef, lamb, and mutton are raised traditionally and handled with the utmost care.
We are committed to supporting local businesses and have cultivated relationships with many small-scale suppliers in the region, allowing us to offer an abundance of other local produce in our farm shop, which is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5.30 pm and stays open until 8 pm on Thursdays.
Visit Us in Store
When you step into our farm shop, you will be greeted by a vibrant array of fresh vegetables, local meats, ready meals, pate, wine, puddings, and more. Our team is always available to help you find everything you need for a fantastic local meal. We actively search for quick and easy mid-week meal solutions, such as our Slow Cooked Beef and Broccoli recipe, designed to bring convenience and joy back into your kitchen.
Our Produce
Our vegetables are grown for taste, never for presentation, ensuring that our produce is bursting with freshness and local flavors. Gone are the days of growing just broccoli and cabbage for the supermarkets; we now cultivate a dazzling variety of seasonal options unique to Ardross Farm. You may even find yourself brushing off a few wild seeds before cooking our famous, locally-renowned neglected cabbages.
Our beef is matured on the bone for three weeks and lovingly transformed into a range of choice cuts, sausages, roasts, mince, and burgers. We take pride in handling our animals with care, and our herd of high health cattle is blood tested, treated only when necessary, and raised within a closed system, ensuring the health of the animals and the quality of the meat.
Our fruits and vegetables are treated with natural remedies and zero pesticides, creating wholesome, scrumptious products. We are proud to be 'Pasture for Life' assured, guaranteeing that our cattle and sheep receive a 100% grass-fed diet filled with nutrient-rich grasses, wildflowers, and herbs.
Ardross Farm Shop is more than just a farm and shop; it's a community centered on the joy of food and celebrating the flavors and connections that come with it.
