Heavy Haulage

We offer a complete professional road transport and haulage service with over 56 years of experience. Our services cover normal and abnormal loads from 5 tonnes to 150 tonnes, long loads from 12m to 36m with rear steer trailers. We provide prompt quotations on all enquiries, small or large, with services covering all UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Abnormal Loads

In the UK, a load is considered 'Abnormal' if it exceeds 18.65 metres rigid length, 2.90 metres in width, or 38,000kg gross weight, or with an overhang to the rear of 3.05 metres. Depending on the nature of the abnormal load and the route chosen, it may be necessary to notify the Police forces and the County Councils involved, plus other bodies such as Railtrack or British Waterways. At N & A James LTD, we can liaise with the various authorities and make these arrangements for you.
